Canadian churches recycle empty cartridges

10/2010

The group states that it aims to “empower faith communities in adopting environmentally aware practices through action and awareness” and is encouraging parishioners to drop off used inkjet cartridges at each church taking part.

The program is helping to fund the program as well as participating churches, and empty cartridges will be collected by KO-REC-TYPE for recycling. Half of each fee will be donated to the program with the other half going to the churches involved.

KO-REC-TYPE manufactures imaging supplies for home and business markets, and has facilities in the United States and Canada. The company states that each cartridge sent to them to be recycled is thoroughly cleaned, refilled, reassembled and inspected.
